orangeness

Multi-tasking. Maybe its just a case of having chronic boredom.
While watching the World Cup final last night I spent much of the time composing an email to a friend of South American travel tips. So entrenched was I in Nerdlingerland (a place I find myself increasingly spending too much time in) that I looked up at one point and said to my housemate:

‘So they are going into extra time now?’

Patient and attentive Karen: ‘No they’ve already done that. Where are you?’

Clearly needing to do more than one thing at a time, and not really giving either 100%.

So on a similar train of thought…. I was sitting listening to a work presentation the other day and I heard mention of ‘activities’ for 2010.

Cue mind wandering…

2010.
I’ll be turning 30.
Seems like ages away. And is a nice round number. Where will I have my birthday? In London? Australia? Maybe have two. Maybe get others to meet me in Brazil.

Then realised that I had misjudged and would actually be turning 31.
Uggh. 2009, seems a great deal closer. Less time to plan real 30th birthday.
Possibilities for making Brazil happen a great deal less likely given that I have only 3 years to become successful person who can drag friends to far away continent just for a party.

Spent rest of the afternoon thinking about a more likely scenario, something where grand celebratory plans could result in say, this:

Moral of the story: I waste too much time thinking about stupid shit.

Today is Jason Orange from Take That’s 36th Birthday. (The one who still can dance rather well).
There we are. Someone who exists to make me feel better about my age to stage-in-life ratio.

Having just finished reviving his boy band from eons ago to tour the country (and i saw it!), he now he can say he makes thirty something mums weak at the knees, as opposed to teenage girls.

Jase, you’ve still got it at 36. Relight my fire, I want you back, sure so sure.

Imagine if someone says that to me when I’m 36.

Sarah, you’ve still got it.

What? What have I still got?

Bad haircut?
Strong chance of oesteoperosis?
Ridiculous amount of nicknames?
Unwarranted hatred for Kate Ritchie from Home & Away?

What?
