Chingy’s Firepig - How I love thee.
I think I broke a few of the do’s and don’ts of Chinese New Year on Sunday.
*Pay off all your debts before the new year begins. You do not want to start in the hole.
Hmmm…. In order to do this I am contemplating getting a loan to pay off the others. Is this still ok?
* Do not wash your hair on Chinese New Year because you may be washing some good luck away.
Wash that luck right out of my hair with Clairol loving care? I wasn’t aware that my dead cells were holding the key to my fortune. And because I cleaned them and had them smelling of Aveda, I am now doomed for the rest of 2007.
*Avoid housecleaning on Chinese New Year lest you mistakenly rid yourself of some good luck in the process.
I’ve been avoiding house cleaning since the dawn of time….Well at least since I got back from holiday. But I did give my room the once over on Sunday and thought that I was perhaps getting the Feng Shui in order. Strike Three. Must remember to throw clothes on my bed and arrange unopened mail in disorderly fashion on the floor to get the good chi coming back to me.
*Reconnect with your inner self. Since the Fire element balances out the Water element, Fire symbolizes rejuvenation and birth. Start that process first by focusing on yourself.
Maybe Fire also symbolizes the fever that I started to get on Sunday….
I felt more like connecting with a pharmacist, than looking for answers from within.
*Remember to give children “hong bao’s” or money in little red envelopes. It is good to invest in the next generation. This does not contradict lending money because you are giving money to children not lending to an adult.
I do not know any children here and I do not have any spare cashola.
Kim made hong bao’s for all of us at our yum cha day, however she took the cheapskate option and there was no money in there so no help in paying my debts as Tip Number One suggested I do. Grrrr.
*Have a child! The year of the Fire Pig also known as the “Golden Pig” is a fantastic year to have children. Children will be particularly blessed and lead a comfortable and luxurious life.
What about my comfortable and luxurious life huh??? What about that Mr. Golden Pig? If I had a child right now it would be destined for a hard life in a messy room thanks to a single parent with no money, albeit it sweet smelling hair.
